Keep the Market as it is, it's a big part of the Dublin scene, great spot for friends, family and visitors both local and international to visit, why change what works. Personally I would hate to see it change, I live in the area and go regularly with my husband, it's so nice to wander around the stalls, bump into random people have a chat, find a bargain and support local business.

The open market space is core to the Newmarket area, diminishing this cannot offer any similar role, and an identifying aspect of Dublin 8 is lost forever.

The community and market spaces in Newmarket Square are vital and must be maintained in any development

It's a bloody disgrace. I go to these markets on a regular basis and love going to them. It's a great place to meet people , get a few bargains. A real sociable event. And they want to take it away.

Something that works well in and for the community shouldnt be abolished without consultation or discussion. The community has the right to have their opinion heard and considered in the development of their area - after all they are the people who live there. This market is a fabulous example of community engagement and spirit and shouldn't be lost.

Hi I'm Kanata from Japan. I'd been in Dublin to study English for a year from 2015 to 2016. And there was also another purpose to stay in Ireland. I have a dream that is opening my vintage clothing shop in Japan. So I'd been sourcing many vintage items in Ireland and other countries in Europe during that term. Then I visited "Dublin Flea Market" every last Sunday for a year. I bought many beautiful stuffs in there. I really love the market but not only for buying items. Because there are so many adorable people. Those meetings through "Dublin Flea Market " told me what Dublin people are. They were so friendly and gave me lots of kindness. They cheered my dream. Actually I visited many kinds of markets all over the Europe. Then I'm truly sure that Dublin Flea Market is the one of the best and adorable market I've ever visited. I'm still keeping in touch with some owners of some shops in there. And I'm going to visit there this October again. Already booked a flight ticket from Japan. Because it's absolutely enough value to visit Dublin Flea even though it will take 15 hours flight from here. If New Market Street would be demolition and Dublin Flea Market would be gone, I'll definitely feel so sad and blue. Please don't take the place where people love and need. Cheers Kanata Ikebe

Please don't get rid of New Market. I used to go there every weekend when was staying in Dublin. I think the fleamarket is such an important part of Dublin culture. It's a wonderful place. Actually I will visit Dublin for the first time in 2 years this autumn and I already have a flight ticket from Japan to Dublin. I'm very much looking forward to visit the Dublin flea. Please keep the market on.

Enough mistakes made in Dublin planning over the last 50 years.... think again Dublin City Corporation!
