Would hate to see the market go. Such a gem with such talented and beautiful things to look at and buy!

One of the best events in this part of the city, a great opportunity for the local community and more to get together

I'd hate to see this market go. We have very few cool markets in Dublin. We need this one to stay!!

Really badley needed in Dublin and in fact all major Counties in Ireland; It's a fun day out dto be enjoyed by all. Seek info from Amsterdam outdoor markets. The even have the Queens Birthday market; Where every street takes out their unwanted goods to sell.?????

We can't loose this fantastic, fun, event that is now very much part of Dublin's cultural fabric- projects like these that are accessible to the whole community should be supported. It would be regrettable to end this brilliant event that puts Dublin on a cultural par with Paris, Berlin and Barcelona.

We should preserve and cherish the nostalgic feel of this wonderful venue where generations of Dubliners meet and share the values of its cultural identity.

The market is unique and brings together people from within and without the community. It cannot be lost just for shirt term profit making by big business.

This market and the community who organise and maintain it is essential to the sustainability of Dublin 8 community ... there needs to be recognition of society as a community not an economy

I am signing this petition because I am among a large number of Dubliners who have been seeing life being made better thanks to the Flea Market, the Fusion market, and all the other organisations attached to Newmarket Square. These monthly events and places brighten social interactions, quality of city life and access to great nutrition. Life in Dublin would not be the same without these events and places if they would be minimised, reduced or even worse, stopped. They provide considerable assets, bringing so much to this capital city. Aside of this, there are so little outdoor locations for this unique type of uniting and exciting community events that know very well how to gather trading services, quality and variety of products, social links and cultures. It would be a terrible loss to see a reduction or a removal of these important events entirely run by extraordinary people and organisations who make Dublin a better place to spend life. In an ideal set up, this square should become a car-free zone, with permanent waterproof transparent structure(s) to allow these events and organisations to thrive even more and obtain a full Dublin City Council support and recognition as well as the size and preservation they deserve. There are wastelands and blocks that could be developed into prettier and (by the way) more eco-friendly habitations than the new-built ones we already see at the back of the square. Dublin should be proud of all its assets and place itself strongly against this blind buildings invasion over public and community spaces. May the clever people with decision power be present when they are needed.

The Dublin Flea and Food Co-Op are hugely important parts of Dublin life, and have been for years. To get rid of either or both of these would be a travesty and such a loss for the people of Dublin who regularly support the Flea and the Co-Op. Developers have been given enough benefits in recent years - let them go and find somewhere else to redevelop!!

Please keep Dublin interesting for everbody rather than turning it into just any other city across the globe.

The Dublin flea market is an integral part of the Dublin 8 community and should remain.
