Dr. Hardy is worth 10 of your guidance counselors. Fire a handful of them and keep Dr. Hardy. She did the work of many. She is worth twice the money you pay her!!!

Dr Hardy is needed in our high school. Please do not let our adolescent
suffer because of cuts. Money vs Stability in our youths. Don't make the wrong choice. Will impact more than the budge it will impact our children. Be wise and not foolish. Maria Miniaci

I am deeply disappointed at the apparent decision to cut from the budget the position of Director of Guidance. This is a vital and necessary position that the Board should fight tooth and nail to maintain. It is one of very few positions that provide a direct benefit to ALL of the students, not just some. Dr. Hardy's breadth and knowledge of universities and college across the United States is impressive.

I have the upmost respect for our Superintendent, BOE, Aministrators, teachers etc. I believe they are truly responsible for the great strides and achievements our district is making. I understand we need to trim the budget, but taking away a DOG position and Dr. Hardy's invaluable experience and dedication to her job will hurt our district, students and parents. I've always said this district stands apart from others because of their willingness to listen, and their dedication to our students. I'm beyond thankful for the support past and present for my daughter. I know there has to be other areas that we can cut ( unfortunate and upsetting as that may be) to save this vital position and more importantly the expertise, love, and dedication that Dr. Hardy has given our students and parents past, present and future.

While I fully understand the financial constraints the district is under. I am no way in support of the elimination of this position. We moved to Somers for the schools 16 years ago and this will weaken our district. What Dr. Hardy does as the Director of Guidance is valuable. I implore the district to look at other avenues to meet the gap that the State has forced us into.

With two teens in high school, one going through the college process right now, I cannot stress how immensely helpful Dr. Hardy has been to our family. I would hate for my other high schooler's college search experience to be a thing less than her sibling.

Speaking from personal experience, Dr Hardy has been the most significant mentor to my son in his 13 years in the Somers School district, first as a counselor, then as Director of Guidance. We as parents have the same sentiments and connection to Dr Hardy and the Impact on the district. This position is one of the, if not most important administrative positions in the school system, not only to oversee the Guidance Dept and counselors in the post grad prep but day to day social counseling. I was present at the 1/19/16 Board meeting and heard the overwhelming voices from those in attendance and those representing others. The most important voices were those of the students who know first hand on day to day basis the need for this position. We implore you to find alternate means to reduce the budget and keep this position .

Budget revaluations should be considered instead including postponement of IB and review of other Administrative positions such as curriculum director. The use of Dell tablets has been a colossal failure at the HS level.
