Think of our children and do not take away this position. We should improve the ranking of our schools and this action will not be productive. We want to draw families to Somers, not away! I have one more child on the school district…my 4th…I know how important this is! Keep the money where it counts!

Without her "directing" and her "guidance," our children will find the already challenging navigation through HS and onto college, more hectic, stressful and lonely. She performs her duties well beyond her title. As their bright and trustworthy spotlight, her value is beyond any dollar amount depicted by some board. And so, therefore, her "elimination" will not be condoned, supported or tolerated.

I'm sure there are MANY ways to trim the budget however, eliminating an important position such as the Director of Guidance should not be one of them. Dr. Hardy is a valuable resource to the schools and most importantly, to our children.
