In life we sometimes have to make tough decisions. When deciding where to reduce expenses, it should be based on PRIORITIES. Eliminating Dr. Hardy and the Director of Guidance position would be a huge mistake impacting the importance of delivering quality education, guidance, direction and support. Certainly, there are other LESS important items which can be reduced or eliminated. Please reevaluate your decision and look elsewhere.

Eliminating this position seems penny wise and pound foolish. We send our children to school, not only because we are legally bound to do so, but with the anticipation that they will be guided through life into adulthood, academically, as well as emotionally. No matter who holds the position of Director of Guidance in Somers School District, it is counterintuitive and foolish to eliminate this position. I stand with the others who oppose this move.

As a parent of a high school studentI feel this is an important position that should not be eliminated. Dr Hardy has given 100% to the district, students and parents of Somers and I would hope she can remain in her position.

Seems that after living in Somets for 30 years by choice, I left just in time. I chose to live in Doners because it was a top district, but it seems that leadership has created a district that is now losing its quality. Getting rid of this position is ridiculous. I am certain there are other places you can cut from. I was in public school teaching for 32 years. Believe me, there is a lot of fluff that should be addressed.

Dr. Hardy is a necessity for our children and parents. If it wasn't for Dr. Hardy's advice and knowledge, I would have had to leave the school system to get the appropriate resources. We need to keep our assets and cut the non assets. Wouldn't that make sense?

Dr. Hardy is an asset to have and it would be a terrible decision to get rid of her. She connects with all the kids and creates a bond that will be there forever. She listens to what kids have to stay and guides them accordingly to there needs and what would make them a great student in HS and college.

I have 3 children in the elementary and middle school levels who have already been touched directly or indirectly by programs that have been implemented throughout our district at all grade levels under Dr. Hardy's leadership. With my eldest about to enter high school, I am truly scared of the prospect of what his future will be without Dr. Hardy in her position as Dir. of Guidance.
