Conservation and public access to the 12,000 acres of Diablo Canyon Lands is a reasonable payback to our community for the huge expense of building, hosting, and decommissioning of DCNPP and the ongoing storage of the toxic trash created during its operating years.

Building the Diablo Canyon Power Plant destroyed thousands of massive old growth Coast Live Oak, entombed a steelhead creek under hundreds of thousands of square yards of fill, and cooked countless organisms in the near shore habitat - including tens of thousands of abalone - with its reactor cooling outflow. Climate change and relentless coastal development is pressuring what is left of California's natural heritage. Creek Lands Conservation stands with those who seek to restore and protect these lands.
