Save the Curtain Theatre

I have been making theatre in MV since 1976. The arts enrich the MV community and help make the town desireable and speaks to the values of the community. It’s very little to ask for property owners to put up with a few days of people enjoying the park and the Bard as it was intended. What selfish people to squash a womderful community event!

The theater has been there much longer than the neighbors. Geez.

Community and arts are so important to the culture and character of a town.

Lived in Mill valley over 30 years.... This is part of what makes our town unique. Save Shakespeare in old Mill park!! Children's camps and the Mill valley art festival!! The park is for people AND the events it offers...

Keep theater in Mill Valley! Don’t like it, consider a move.

Another situation (think Mill Valley Lumber Yard) where a vocal minority ties the city in knots for far too long and works against the interests of most reasonable residents. Please don’t drag this out!

Don't let the people who have invaded Mill Valley do more damage to this town than they already have

The amphitheatre was there long before any of the residents that are now complaining. Those residents knew it was there, knew that it was used, and still decided to move into the area.

Newby NIMBY's go home, and when I say home I mean from whence you came.

We need our theatre & arts. They have long been a part of Mill Valley culture & experience.

The Curtain Theater is one of the things that truly makes Mill Valley... Mill Valley. We are so fortunate to have it.

Old Mill Park belongs to the community for uses that bring people together. It’s an icon and unique in its uses. Shakespeare in the Park is more than that! What a treat it is! An anonymous letter and complaint from a few should not sway the City Council to change the uses as well as the prices for renting space in the glorious park. The minority should not rule.

I attended a performance last summer and a neighbor used a leaf blower throughout the performance and threatened violence to the audience members who politely asked him to stop. It was very ugly and unacceptable behavior on the part of the neighbor.

This is part of what makes mill valley so special!

I have grown up in this town and have been going to birthday parties, scouting events, mill valley art festivals, high school class reunions, movies in the park under the stars for as long as I can remember. This is like buying a home near a school and then complaining the school is too loud. Old Mill park and it's community feel and community events help bring our town and generations of families together. New Mill Valley with it's new residents moving from out of town really continue to change and destroy the special neigborhood feel we all grew up with in Mill Valley.

Please keep Shakespeare in the spark!

I love the Shakespeare plays

We come to Mill Valley every year to see the Shakespear performances in the park and usually have dinner downtown. Do not let a few NIMBYs ruin a wonderful event.

downtown Mill Valley must be allowed to thrive & be vibrant. It is what allows Mill Valley to be special & distances it from other communities devoid of culture. If you do not agree, you should not be living in the downtown district

The love for Shakespeare the Curtain Theatre folk show is heartening. As an English teacher at Redwood (1964-2010), I appreciate this gift of free performances Curtain Theatre gives to Marin students.
