Save the Curtain Theatre

The Curtain is a treasure.

I used to live in MV. I loved going to the events in the beautiful Old Mill Park. Then as now, new people move in and want to take control. Keep theatre in the park!

The folks at Curtain create Art, for free, in a beautiful corner of Marin, where EVERYONE can come and experience live theater. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, especially in a case like this...put another way, NIMBY-ism cannot be allowed to conquer Good. These "neighbors" get to live in an amazing place, within an easy walk of a lovely redwood-shaded park/creek, library, etc. Part of the cost of that lifestyle includes sharing parking spaces with theater-creators and audience a few weekends each year. There must be a negotiated solution that recognizes legitimate complaints but dismisses NIMBY attitudes/selfishness.

We give so little support to theatre--please keep Curtain Theatre alive and thriving.

Please let this Mill Valley tradition continue!

The parks are designed for ALL.

The Curtain Theatre has been contributing to the cultural life of Mill Valley for almost 2 decades. It should be celebrated and honored, not harassed.

Community theater should be celebrated and expanded not shut down and trimmed back!!!!

Save community theater

Curtain Theatre is as much a community treasure as the park itself and is a legitimate user and proven good neighbor and caretaker of this public space. Curtain Theatre brings residents and visitors together to enjoy the beauty of nature, art and culture. Isn't this part of why the park exists? Do the rights of the local land owners (who knowingly purchased land adjacent to a public space) exceed those of the community? What is next? Restrict or eliminate The Art Fair, the Movie in the Park, excessive dog walking or playground use?

I’ve come from Grass Valley to see a play there. It’s a great little outdoor theater. Leave it alone!

ThIs event brings people to downtown Mill Valley to eat, shop and drink coffee. It's a great event and should be allowed to use the park once a year!

We have been enjoying Curtain Theater Shakespeare performances for many years. Please keep this Mill Valley community theater in the park. It is a treasure for young and old to experience good Shakesperian theater in this outdoor setting. and they are Free! !. Mill Valley is known for its cultural experiences. Please keep this one.

Please keep this special place available for public theater!

Think this has been an amazing piece of Mill Valley, a place that I grew up in, and actually led camps at Old Mill. This has become a part of an old Mill Valley,bold art, big hearted work.... We have seen the elimination of so many of these iconic experiences: the tree at Boyle Park, the end of Village Music, the death of Charlie Deal(toilet seat guitars). Think of the impact of eliminating a free, mi day theatre performance. What statement does that make.

Don’t understand at all why this should be deemed inappropriate for the park, the neighbourhood. The Art Fair, the Movie in the Park, the numerous parties, weddings and various gatherings..don’t they too then need to be considered? If so, it would leave Old Mill Park a sad, dark and lonely place. I find it so cheerful to walk or drive through the park and see events going on, good use of the public space and happy to see Neighbours and friends.

please support and defend curtin theatre productions. this cultural treasure is a valuable asset to our community.
