Theater enriches us all.

Live theatre, which is affordable to those of us on limited incomes, is a valuable cultural asset in the bay area. We consider ourselves so fortunate to live in an area that offers so much in the way of live theatre.

Never move near a school or a park if you don't like social activity. Curmudgeons take note.

Neighbors bordering a public park should know about the joy a park brings many, and the joyous cheers of children watching the show should not be stopped by leafblowers or litigation

Wonderful production and wonderful location for the annual event. Let's keep it at our lovely Old Mill Park.

Continuing to have plenty of events in Old Mill Park is important for a well-rounded and content community. Cultural activities, especially high quality free options which can be rare, make a city a wonderful place to live. I used to live adjacent to a park in San Rafael where there were some regularly occurring and rather noisy activities on the weekends... and although it did produce some unwanted sound for my ears, I understood it was something I was not going to try to change or really complain about. It was culture I was hearing. A joyful noise, now that I look back on it. I’ve also lived near a Vets Hall which routinely rented out its space to anyone with some cash... often to folks interested in throwing incredibly loud parties till late into the evening. A few of the events degenerated into something difficult to endure and... very “un-Shakespearean”... let’s just put it that way, shall we? My point?— What’s going on with Curtain Theater is so much nicer and easier to take than a rave, or a wild party. It might be a little bit of a bothersome situation for some neighbors, for just a few weeks each year, but I’d hope those few may realize that it’s bringing so much joy to so many. Plus, it’s not a rave. THAT would be unacceptable in the park. Isn’t this tolerable?

The arts are fundamental to the human experience. Access to them is as important as access to a library of a park!

I have been attending Curtain Theater productions for many years, and greatly appreciate that Mill Valley supports such a local treasure. The setting among the redwoods, adjacent to the Library is a critical element in the overall experience. The outdoor setting also makes the productions seem intimate, while still allowing young children the freedom to move about while watching and listening. I've heard many parents comment that attending the Curtain Theatre productions in Old Mill Park allow them to expose their children to high quality theater at a much younger age than if it were indoors. It concerns me to learn that there is an attempt to curtail any of the current use of the amphitheater, which has played a critical role in the daily life and culture of Mill Valley for many years. The Curtain Theatre and other events at the amphitheater are too important to too many members of our community to consider imposing restrictions in response to complaints from a small number of residents. Thank you.

Please keep Curtain Theater in Old Mill Park! The community needs more Theater, not less.

The Curtain Theater has been such a wonderful and unique contribution of art and entertainment for all of Marin. It brings high quality live performances of among the greatest plays ever written . I hope the concerns can be worked out so that this positive community resource can continue.

Curtain's shows are enjoyed by people of all ages. Pease alow The Curtain to produce lovely shows there. Free theatre is a gift to the community, not a burden.

Curtain Theater provides quality free theater to all of Marin County and exposed our children to the classics

Those who choose to live near a public park and amphitheater should be prepared for some noise from community events. That's part of the deal. To have access to high-quality, free, outdoor Shakespeare in our community is such a gift and should not be threatened by the private interests of homeowners, some of whom may have moved into the neighborhood years after Curtain Theater was founded.

I've enjoyed many performances at Curtain Theatre, and I hope to enjoy many more! It is an asset for the whole Bay Area.

This is one of the highest quality companies in the North Bay and a gem in Mill Valley. It would be a terrible shame to the curtail performing arts and the contribution of free performances available to all.

This is absurd! I can personally attest to the quality and entertainment value provided by the Curtain Theatre. It's a great setting and kids love the shows too. Don't deprive the locals of this brilliant arts venture!
