Come on now people! Support the arts! Unless you really want society to just keep devolving into an endless Sea of uncultured people doing nothing but chasing money with no connection to the thousands of years old tradition of theatre and art and who's only exposure to media is propaganda on Fox news and CNN.

I came across the Curtain Theatre presentation by chance one year and was blown away by the excellent performance. It's hard to imagine how the theatre troupe could make enough noise to annoy neighbors. Old Milll Park is, after all, a public park. Will the Fall Arts Festival be next? Mill Valley has lost its soul.

Another sad example of knee jerk reacting to the few (NIMBY) to end the enjoyment of the greater masses.
Although I support the rights of the local neighbors it seems the efforts of the theater group has been responsive to their neighbors. It reminds me of a person that moved to a home near an existing shopping center then started complaining about the cars in the parking lot !

The free Shakespeare is one of the best things about Mill Valley (IMHO). Please be sure this is allowed to continue as well as the use of the stage during the arts festival!

Theater is the oldest commentary on humans. Theater people are our story tellers - those wonderful artists who continue the artistry, the magic, the Brechtian hammer that not only mirrors out human society, but shapes it as well. Death to one theater is a slap in the face to all theaters and to humanity itself. Please save the Curtain!

The Curtain Theatre is an essential benefit of living in Mill Valley and since it is such a small space and many of the audience-participants walk in, I suspect traffic problems are related to weddings which could be handled differently without restricting the theatre.

Having performed with the Curtain Theatre, I can attest to the company's committment to providing Marin, as well as the rest of the Bay Area, with high-quality, classic, and FREE (essentially) theatrical productions. Curtain deserves all the support it can get.

My sincere thanks to all you supporters of the Curtain Theatre. I do want to make something clear. This petition is solely in response to the petition coming from some neighbors of Old Mill Park complaining of usage of the park for a variety of purposes, including ours. HOWEVER.. I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT WE AT THE CURTAIN THEATRE HAVE NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER WITH THE MILL VALLEY RECREATION DEPT. They are the ones that have granted us free usage of the stage for all these years and we have a good working relationship with them. They and the Mill Valley Arts Commission are our partners. So please do not aim any criticism at them. Thank you.
Steve Beecroft, Board member of the Curtain Theatre.

From what I read about the theater it seems they are responsible and may be making noise during the day, but that is perfectly normal. We cannot live without making noise. It also seems that the noise is for a very limited time. Please show some compassion as we all could use some theater in our lives.

Please save Curtain Theater! I discovered Curtain Theater about 6 years ago and it has become a tradition of mine to see it every summer. What a loss of art, fun and humanity in Mill Valley if this self-centered action goes forward. One more wonderful thing that must be saved in the Bay Area.

After seeing the production of Henry IV, I consider the Curtain theater to be a community treasure. Perhaps the neighbors are too. but if they have co-existed with the Theater for 19 years, why can't they continue to do so? If they kill this theater, I could say with Ceasar, "Et tu, Brute." I have not desire to alarm the wonderful neighbors, but I might remind them that Brutus came to a sticky end.

Theatre is vital to communities. Stripping out the arts from our communities leaves just people and commerce and work. These things do not enrich our lives like stories and art and wonder do. Please please consider funding this Theatre, grow your community. Thank you.
