I look forward to The Curtain Theater performances every year. The whole cast and crew do a fantastic job. It is really hard to imagine any problems from these very family events. The CT performances are one of the few reasons that I ever get over to downtown MV. Thanks for all the wonderful afternoons in the park!

I think it is great to have this theater in the park. I have only been to one performance myself yet it enjoyed it very much. One of the many perks living in this area. Sounds of laughter and just hearing the enjoyment. I hope the one who submitted the anonymous request against this theater will find it in the heart to change

We together create harmonious gatherings to continue to keep friends and neighbors connected. The stage in the redwood grove if actually far from homes. They enjoy sharing no more than an hour at most. There are picnic tables near the stage and nice benches for people to sit. This is called Old Mill Park and it is a much needed gathering place. We are getting too closed in by our separated lives of television and negative news. People are building fences to push the world out. We need more parks and creative places for us to gather. Please keep the long lived performance art alive. We all simply love it and know how important it is to have theatre in our lives. These people in doors can close their gates and windows for an hour or perhaps they may hear us laughing and join the party

Shakespeare is not for the cultural elite or iterative majors! It is for everyone! It has been translated and performed around the world—even in sign language, Esperanto, Maori, and Klingon—it’s even taught and performed in jail! Is mill valley no better than jail? Save Shakespeare; don’t let it recede from the public eye and become a thing for boring classrooms—it was never meant to be read in isolation, but meant to be performed and heard!

Absolutely ridiculous on the part of nearby residents. You know what happens in Homestead Valley every single weekend through summer? Incredibly loud and grating tree work. Be grateful that you are hearing performance art instead!

I live on Cascade Drive, right by the park. I support the theatre 100% in continuing performances, access for rehearsals, whatever they need.

Curtain Theatre is a treasure.
Old Mill Park is part of our town's soul, an utterly unique gathering space.
MV can't afford to trade it for private gain. That IS what we're talking about, trading a broad public good for a narrow private good - and one that should have known that moving in next to a community space would involve a little noise.

I’ve enjoyed the Curtain’s performance and was happy to volunteer to help sell concessions last year. A great group of people doing a great service to our community!

Old Mill Park is a precious resource for everyone. I grew down the street from the Park and my father designed the library that is beloved by the residents. There should be no unreasonable limits on the Curtain Theatre's performances, which only impact a tiny fraction of the year. Please don't limit something enjoyed by so many.
I agree. Mill Valley resident since 1955.
