Stop trying to save a little money on the backs of local groups. Our culture preservation more important. Coucil should be supporting cultural tourism and heritage not putting up roadblocks. It's not always about the bottom line. Difference between investment and exoenditure

When I visit Huntsville (which I do often), I want to get a sense of its place in history. You have a dedicated group of volunteers who are the biggest boosters your town could ask for. Why on earth would you act against their interests - and your own, in the long run?

I first started using the Huntsville Train Station, now the Culture Station in the very early 1950's and continued utilizing it for many years until the Ontario Northland (Northlander) was sadly discontinued putting many more vehicles on our already crowded highways. The Huntsville Train Station (Culture Station) as and hopely will be again the transportation hub of Huntsville and is very much part of my memories of travelling to Huntsville for years.

I have made a significant investment for a show at the Signal North Gallery, hoping to show the townsfolk of Huntsville that a visit to a gallery can be a culturally nourishing family outing. Lloyd Walton Port Carling

It would be a real loss to the community if this resource were turned over to private hands. Perhaps develop a Board of Directors to oversee and fund raise might help?

At this point I think it is pretty ridiculous to have to keep reminding counselors on points they have already paid significant dollars (not to mention time and energy from all those involved in the process) to hear from several studies on the subject and it's resulting positive economic impact on communities. Which is only one of a great many positive impacts. The culture station should be considered an essential community investment. I can't think of anything more inclusive to every and all members of a community than arts, culture, and heritage. For a community to be prosperous it has to be creative. To be creative it has to be inspired. Undermining the most obvious sources and expressions of creativity and inspiration within a community undermines the growth and prosperity of a community as a whole.

We need a display area for our fine artists of Muskoka and surrounding area for culture and artistic interests for young and old ...everyone who loves art and wants to see the art of our neighbours past and present.

The arts play a significant roll in the life of Huntsville and in the town's local and international image. Any move that compromises the vibrancy of Huntsville's stellar artistic image, such as the loss of the train station, would do irreparable damage. Please reconsider this decision and instead extend support to these arts groups.
