The stories people have shared regarding the emotional history of these couches provide a thoughtful reminder of why this space matters so much to our community. I am currently compiling these accounts to present to the building management as evidence of the deep appreciation we hold for our current seating.

Reaching this level of support for our red couches suggests that many people share a genuine attachment to these pieces. It is encouraging to see that others value the history and comfort they provide as much as I do.

These couches provided comfort in bettween classes and im from out of town so I cant just go home to rest.
Those couches are more than just furniture. They're a bed after a long, frustrating day. They're a meeting place for every year of our program. They're a place for emergency meetings where you can get screamed at by your producer, where the couches support you both physically and emotionally. Bring them back to us.
They may have been old but dang it those couches were comfortable! The new benches are sterile looking and not nearly as pleasant to sit on.
As a graduate of the program I have to say that every student who has a class in the voyageur wing has so many social memories on these couches. They were an area for groups to discuss projects, where ideas were created where we could unwind after a long day. This petition might be silly but by removing the couches you're removing the heart of the voyageur wing.
During long edit nights or set builds these were vital to rest on while footage rendered and/or exported. The replacing with metal benches as odd as it sounds will affect the moral of broadcasting students.
I'll fight a bench.
Gimmie five bucks and I'll move them from the parking office back down to Voyager.

The red couches were to Voyageur what the Central Perk couch in "Friends" was or the Iron Throne in "Game of Thrones" is - iconic. Please bring back the couches - they're the best meeting spot for lowkey production meetings, the best napping spot during late nights at the College and the point of reference for every student in BRTF.
