I feel it is unfair on the youngsters who have bee n having private tuition and have reached a certain standard and will now have to travel miles to another ice arena to have a private lesson.

If you have an ice skating rink then you need coaches in which to train children and adults in how to ice skate correctly. Also my granddaughter, who has been having lessons, is extremely disappointed in this decision as she thoroughly enjoys the lessons and hopes in the future to progress to a professional standard. It must be a terrible blow to the coaches to loose their jobs.

This is a love and passion of many youngsters, whether it is ice skating, ice hockey or some other ice sport. These coaches are dedicated and should keep their jobs.

The coaches are the most valuable asset to the rink and bring much needed funds in . This decision makes no Buisness sense

Such a shame! Why stop this activity when it is noted our kids need entertainment and coaching skills to prevent them getting board and hanging round on the streets causing problems!

This is not in any way a chance to enhance the arena but a way to close it down.. no-one uses it, figures dramatically reduced.. etc... horrendous decision. My daughter had the same coach for 8 years... love skating and the coach... devastated is the only way to describe her emotions.

This is part of a deliberate attempt by the Council to run the Arena into the ground, close it and flog the land.

My daughter is taught by Adrian and enjoys ice skating to reduce the number of coaches is the wrong decision. Where was the consultation in this decision?

We followed coach Lianne McDonald from Grimsby Ice Arena. We travel 1 hour once or twice a week for our daughters lessons and she is not prepared to move to another coach. When there is an obvious demand for all the coaches at the arena it beggars believe that you would consider, let alone implement axising so many talented coaches from the facility. Please reconsider the basis of your dicision and reinstate Leanne McDonald and all the other coaches affected with a full apology for their pain and suffering caused to them and their clients.

What a disgrace, the council should hang their heads in shame. When something is working well why change it. So they want to run the ice arena down as they have plans for the land?? Keep the coaches, keep children active and healthy and enjoying this sport. A number of years ago my granddaughter enjoyed ice skating lessons at the arena, the council decided to cut the coaches and she lost her coach Sally. What a loss she refused to go back and lost out on her favourite hobby and sport, something she was very good at and had got to gold in her certificates. How shameful this is happening again.

Another unfair decision made by Hull City Council. Running this city into the ground.

I applaud you for catering for children with special needs on the ice. Can I suggest that you offer some in house training for your staff to learn how to communicate and liaise with the public let's say in a more 'human' way. Basic skills like politeness, respect and manners are life skills. We need to practise what we preach and Instil 'social skills' by sharing best practice with those we work with. Can I bring up the word 'inclusion' this means that all children are catered for no matter what their background, culture or WHO their coach is. Looking after 'your own' is a very selfish way to operate especially when working for a community club. Their are some amazing club leaders in Dundee I can sign post you towards.... this club includes every child from the top performing skaters to the children who just do it for fun and NO it does not matter who your coach is! Ps I think you might need to step down if you can't take on constructive criticism after all the customer is always right!#freedom ofexpression#nobullyinghere#fightforwhatsright#thestrengthofthewolfisthepack#Butthestrengthofthepackisthewolf
