Save the coaches at hull ice arena

I used to skate at Hull Ice Arena as a teenager - my coach was amazing and I loved every second of it. It would be such a shame to not only take away these coaches jobs - but also such a rewarding a passionate skill that the skaters are learning. There will always be a high demand for skating coaches and the council would be foolish to take them away.

My 2 girls are both coached at the arena. To lay off the best coaches in the north is a disgrace. I'm now going to struggle to get my girls coached at something they love. I'm a single parent and can't afford nor spare the time to travel to Grimsby, Sheffield or Bradford. Doesn't say much for our city of culture

Why can't the people who made this decision come to the rink too see how it works then they might understand why the decision they have made will not work and they are devastating young skaters lives because they will have no choice but to give up the sport and go and be couch potato's.

Having supported the ice arena when my granddaughter was a member of the club and had lessons with Adrian. I am so disgusted and extremely disappointed. The enjoyment and talent everyone of all ages achieves via the lessons and public sessions is brilliant. Adrian as done so much for the ice arena and is loved by everyone. how can you see devastated pupils? Quite frankly it stinks to put it very rudely but express my own feelings and a lot of other peoples feelings also.

My young cousin enjoys her lessons here, and travelling to another rink may be too far.

I thought the city of culture got its name for having different opportunities for people in the area. They also say that kids have nothing to do and roam streets and causing havoc stop taking opportunities away from the kids of the future. the future world champion figure skater could of been born in hull but not if you take this away from them. My daughter has been having lessons for 3 years and really struggled with self-confidence and this has given her confidence. she also has gained friends and the arena. she isn't into any other sport either and loves her instructor and know how hard to push her without denting her confidence. WE NEED OUR COACHES.
