Skating is an excellent sport long term it is cheaper to have children to grow up in sport than try and reform them after they do off the rails "Kids in sport stay out of court"

Many adults also have lessons with these coaches. They are devastated. What is Hull City Council thinking of.

Hull is a wonderful rink where my son has competed on a few occasions, he too wants to make a career from his skating (including coaching). Save the wonderful coaches at Hull!

People shouldn't be so quickly to judge there is a lot more behind the stories than there is!! Get the good coaches back!!

The coaches put a lot of time and effort into teaching the kids. For some children this maybe their only out of school activity, which it is for my son

In the interests of promoting this valuable resource for people in and around hull, and promoting growth & development of this sport I hope that this does not go ahead. It would be a huge loss for the sport, the city and for the health, well being and social interests of visitors and users of the facility.

The coaches are fantastic and keep custome going at the ice rink with out them it won't get used much

A great rink that has a lot of potential. Our experienced of the few Olympic size rinks in the UK.

It feels like this is step 1 of Hull City Council plan to close the rink. The business case would be to recruit more coaches each paying a reasonable ice rent. Then encourage and support them to develop some kind of skate school that is accessible to everyone. More skaters paying entry fees etc would mean more money for better facilities. Hull could easily become the rink that everyone wants to train at. There is just so much that could be done with just a tiny amount of cooperation. I guess that is too much to ask.

Skaters need coaches to become champions and Hull has a good record of providing championship standard skaters who would have come from such courses as Skate UK. Please do not lose your best assets.
