This is unbelievable, my daughter loves her skating and has progressed to patch ice and really wants to move forward with her skating, she is going to lose her coach, she will be heartbroken, please do not stop this, the children who have lessons love it and want to progress. As customers we have had no information sent from the cancellation of group lessons and our poor daughter is fighting to keep up her favourite activity. Don't do this to her.

I was shocked to hear about this decision. I would like to know more facts and the reasons for it. I am worried that my daughter and I will not be able to continue our lessons. We have invested in ice skates only recently without any warning this would happen. We have found the coaches excellent. I worry that only three coaches will not be able to offer lessons at evenings and weekends when we want them. The rink seems to be well used, especially by kids. The rink should be trying to encourage more kids to take up this sport and use this facility, not limit the number that can access the lessons. I am also concerned that some talented coaches that seem happy to work at all sorts of hours of the day, are being prevented from offering their services when there appears to be a big demand for them. i would like to understand why they cannot just pay the rink a fee to use the ice to teach, and continue to do so. As long as the demand is there and the ice is not too full ( which I have not experienced) I don't see the issue. The rink has to date given me, as a service user, any kind of information or explanation, which is very disappointing and I hope they will be in touch soon.

My daughter who has been skating for just a year was lucky enough to have Vicki Wilson as her instructor and has made such a lot of progress through the year and has developed a passion for skating because of the quality of the coaching I am very disappointed

Don't let this go down hill we need ice arena it's been here years it's a great sport and fun for all ages we need as many coachs as possible if it wasn't for them we couldn't have all the help for the up and coming kids

Think council should give there head a wobble the coaches bring in money to the rink along with future champions and fitter children you will lose money on this and close the rink , I feel you should also consider how much in memberships will all be lost , you set to lose thousands so this has not been done for cutbacks,,,

Don't take away children's enjoyment, sports are essential for children including skating....take it away and it's another thing in hull children can't do.

Can't believe this has happened all the coaches work so hard for the benefit of the pupils, how will 3 coaches take on the load of all the other pupils and those new ones who wish to learn?

I have had my coach Leanne for almost two years and if she left then I wouldn't be taking lessons at this ice arena again! Leanne is a brilliant teacher I feel comfortable around her and I wouldn't want to have a different teacher I'm sure many more people feel the same!

how can it being 'enhancing the quality if tuition' if only 3 coaches will be offering 1:1? Will they be working extra long days with additional patch sessions? Vikki Wilson does additional group and off ice training for my daughter and her friends (that she has made through skating) who is going fill this void? Disgust is only describing mildly the way I am feeling about the 'people' who have made this decision.

To much of this is happening, there not looking after any amenities, in this City, what are the doing with our money, look at the mess in city centre, not enough forward planning everything last minute

The coaches are already self employed, they pay the council to be able to use the ice, therefore the council are actually going to lose money by doing this.

I think it is disgusting that the council have done such a thing! My friend Lucy has been skating for 6 years and is incredible, yet all her dreams of pursuing the sport further have been taken away as she can no longer continue. Cutting coaches from 9 to 3 is ridiculous, we are meant to be city of culture and this is definitely not the way to portray it! SAVE THE COACHES and all the talented people's dreams

I don't think the coaches should be fired they was all amazing to my best friends who skate there and that's there pation please save the coaches so my bestfriends can have a dram come true
