This tree was a tradition for my family growing up. So I carried it over with my children. They are now 18 and 22. We all love this tree and no matter the shape we still go every Christmas to see it. Please do not cut down the Christmas Tree. Please keep lighting it every year. It helps connect the past with the future. Save the Christmas Tree.

This tree is something special to the people who grew up in Wilmington, NC! As a kid I went every year and got to see and hangout with friends when on Christmas break. I love this tree and it brought so many people together. Why would people want to kill that? Please help our town people we need to keep bringing people together instead of tearing the good things down!

I am a native Wilmingtonian and this tree holds so many memories for the local families. Taking this tree down is so wrong in so many ways.

I am in my mid 40's and remember grandpa and grandma taking my siblings and I to see the tree every year growing up. We would sing carols and they would tape us on their tape recorder. Some of my fondest memories growing up. Now I have 2 new little ones I would love to do the same with. It's a tradition that runs deep for many natives.

As a 28 year old that grew up in Wilmington, this tree holds a lot of wonderful memories from my childhood. You already destroyed the old tree on Market St. Stop removing history from our city.

If it must be cut down due to disease or it's dead, then please use the wood wisely, like providing heat to low income families.
