Oh say it isn't so! I just visited this calm serene beautiful sanctuary for the first time since moving here and fell in love with it. It's a wonderful place. Don't allow this to happen!

Besides the proposed use not being congruent with the residents and eco-tourism visitors that will be forced to run the gauntlet of heavy trucks as they cross Porter or Palmer, the use is not even similar with the light industrial that is already in place. How this facility could qualify as light industrial is a mystery to me.

This needs to be relocated out east. Poor decisions like this need to be stopped.

I've driven by the celery fields and I see people enjoying it, because now nature is there and people are birdwatching and enjoying It. So please don't destroy the song !

The roads in this area can't support an industrial recycling plant either!

The Celery Fields is an integral part of Sarasota County Parks and the many greenscapes in the county ecosystem. It's also one of the only hills in Sarasota, making it a delight for runners, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Given the Celery Fields' proximity to adjoining wetland areas, the bird and wildlife populations have flourished. It's no wonder the Audubon Society has set up a visitor center there to raise awareness of the natural beauty that the Fields encompass. A manufacturing facility has no place there!

Isn't any property 'sacred in this 'once' community??? All I see are BUILDINGS! And 'ripping' up of once 'sacred' good old Flloridian land! LEAVE IT ALONE PLEASE! At least for the farmers that harvest this precious vegetable!! And finally, to let Sarasota have SOME area where there are no BUILDINGS, just LAND!!!!!!

I've walked the trails at the Celery Fields site. That the serenity and beauty of this sanctuary are threatened by the possibility of a waste recycling plant is unfathomable. By all means save the Celery Fields.
