This project will have a deleterious effect on our beautiful Celery Fields not to mention the effect to the good health to our residents. Haven't we learned the health hazards that such a project could effect the residents of the surrounding communities? This project must be stopped and we must stop our elected officials who benefit from such projects.

An industrial recycling plant does not belong on Palmer Blvd next to the celery fields!

A project like this would be a direct conflict to the energy, efforts and resources directed to this treasured section of Sarasota that has turned into an international attraction. With all the facts divulged disclosing how the owner obtained the land in the first place and his relation to local politics, Sarasota has the chance to take action that will prevent it from getting caught with egg on its face so to speak and I hope they make the right choice. This is not the spot for this project. If the Restaurnt Depot project was shot down how can this project be approved? Wouldn't make sense. Do the right thing Sarasota.

I urge anyone who cares about the celery fields to sign the petition. So much was put into making this beautiful place now at risk of being destroyed.

There has to be a more suitable location for a facility such as this. I am in favor of preserving the Celery Fields to the best of our abilities.

The cleanup expenses will be enormous in short order. Meanwhile the Celery Fields will lose its birdlife that attracts tourist dollars from all over the country and world. Home values in the area will plummet -- there goes tax dollars. All of this loss and expense just to make a one-time $25 million land sale. If the county does not have an environmental conscience, they will hopefully understand the economics.
