Save the Celery Fields in Sarasota, FL

Stop this action to destroy the fields !

Although I am not wealthy by any means, I felt it important enough to donate a fairly goodly sum of money to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) to help them raise funds for a wetlands bird sanctuary which was designed to help birds on their migratory pathways. Those who think nature has no place in our world have so very much to learn. Far better to stop and smell the roses and take the time to learn, than to desecrate and demolish essential habitat in the name of a very regressive kind of 'progress'. Please, leave this beautiful wonderland as it is. Thank you for your time. RA

This is an important birding sanctuary, I travel there 3 times a year from NYC. Sarasota has something special, don't ruin it.

I do not want an industrial recycling plant built next to the bird sanctuary at the Celery fields!

Please do NOT allow this recycling plant to be built next to Celery Fields. Why is that even a possibility!!??? It's a direct contradiction to everything the Celery Fields stand for!!! Not to mention what a marvelous resource the Fields are to our community. Please find another location that isn't next to an ecological treasure!

Please do the right thing for our special wildlife area. Keep your dirty plant away Erin the celery fields. Please stop the smelly dirty utility in an appropriate place.

We live on Leewynn and will be adversely affected in many ways, together with The Celery Fields. Please protect the integrity of that wonderful resource that is important to not only us, but to people all over the world who come to visit.

This issue of the county selling off "surplus land" bordering the Celery Fields area is too important to ignore! Please stop! We need a secure buffer zone around this nature preserve/ eco-tourism jewel! We already own the land to this end -STOP selling it off -NOW.

How can this be with protected birds in the area?

I thought we wanted to attract birds to this area....not chase them away. I thought we wanted to attract visitors to this area to watch the birds....not chase THEM away. Was I wrong in thinking this?

This is beyond disgraceful!!!!!What kind of normal, caring, human being would ever even consider replacing this beautiful area with any type of business- let alone a recycling facility!!??? This area of Sarasota, (especially The Celery Fields) is the one and only beautiful area in our county that has an "up-north" feeling and atmosphere and to ever allow any company/industry to disrupt it, (and the wildlife that now calls this place home) needs to go bankrupt for even considering, and trying to pass such a contract. Some things in life are not all about making the money.

The constant development and stripping of natural wonders in Florida needs to stop before nothing is left. The county needs to do the right thing and preserve and protect this green habitat for wildlife and its resident's enjoyment.

I can't believe you are even considering putting a recycling plant anywhere in that area! What a disgrace that the city of Sarasota would even consider not protecting this area and the wildlife it supports. I can't believe there aren't other locations better suited for a recycling plant. This will have such an adverse effect on the people who live in the area, and even more so the birds and other animals that call it home. Shame on you Sarasota and the people that think this is some great idea.

Nature needs protection! This is a beautiful piece of land that is home to many animals. Don't destroy their home!

I am strongly against development in this area. The County needs to follow their own policies and procedures.

He try this off Cattleman! This does not need to be anywhere around homes, business, parks for bird watching, having a picnic, the hill where we go to walk, the beautiful Big Cat Habitat! We don't want the noise and more traffic!!!
