This area is important to the Sarasota area. My sister walks there all the time. I have been there with her and find it to be very peaceful and full of wonder.

We do not need any more development in Sarasota County. Use the vacant buildings already in existence.

I don't eantg a 14-acre industrial recycling plant built next to a bird sanctuary at the Celery Fields! There has been more than enough destruction of nature in Sarasota!!

That intersection in that area is way too busy in the mornings and afternoons to even remotely think about having a recycling center with dozens of recycling garbage trucks going in and out all this will do will cause more havoc and chaos on the roadways

I have lived in Sarasota for over 40 years. I was born and raised here since the 1970's. My grandfather farmed the celery fields when I was a kid. Please do not let some factory move in and ruin our Wildlife, polluting the area around Palmer Road. It would be a disaster. Thank you for your time, Mr. Harris

"NO," just "NO," to the proposed recycling plant next to the community treasure that is the Celery Fields. It's just horrifying, maddening and wrong on so man levels.

Do not allow recycling plant anywhere in that corridor, which is booming with development already (homes) and one of the very few open areas for nature, birds and animals.

To All Concerned:
On Monday, January 30th 2017 a neighborhood workshop was held to present and discuss the proposed zoning change to accommodate TST Ventures in their pursuit of developing a transfer center and recycling site at the corner of Palmer and Apex. In attendance were more than 200 concerned Sarasota County residents.
Please be advised that as a Sarasota County resident living in close proximity to the proposed TST Ventures site I vehemently oppose said site and encourage our Sarasota County Commissioners to do the same. Site prep and construction continue at the planned location with crews working into the evening and on the weekends, already negatively impacting the overarching quality of life for all in the surrounding neighborhoods.
I trust our Sarasota County Commissioners will request TST Ventures cease and desist with further construction while this issue is pending. The proposed site is completely inconsistent with the current and developing nature of nearby communities and green spaces.
Within just a few miles of this proposed landfill there are:
• 3 Sarasota County schools: McIntosh Middle , Fruitville Elementary and Tatum Ridge
• 1 private school: Sarasota Christian
• 1 Grocery store: Detwiler’s
• 1 Animal sanctuary, home to big cats & other wild species
• “The Celery Fields”: with more than 200 species of migratory birds as well as environmental fragile aquatic plants and trees. It also houses the Sarasota Audubon Visitor & Nature Center. Additionally it is Sarasota County’s primary storm water collection zone, allowing it to serve a dual purpose of public safety and recreation.
The construction of this transfer / recycling center is in direct conflict with Sarasota County’s responsibility of public safety and recreation.
Moreover there are 100’s of existing private homes as well as new and planned residential development within minutes of this anticipated 16 acre site. This area cannot support such a business. The curr

Don't allow the nature preserve to be ruined, no to mention the safety and traffic issues. This belongs out in an open area, of which there are many!

We need open spaces for wildlife, use the property at end of Bee Ridge its certainly more appropriate.
