This area is world renowned for the diversity of birds who live or pass through there. Many visitors come just to birdwatch. Do not jeopardize this jewel in Sarasota.

What a shame that this is even being discussed. Please protect our environment for future generations.

Please don't allow the serenity of the Celery Fields to be destroyed by this proposed plant. The Celery Fields is one of Sarasota's top jewels, from bird-watching to cross country races and practices to Peaceful Park reflections.

There's enough noise already with the traffic

I think it's absurd that there even needs to be a petition to keep the celery fields the way they are

I live near Celery Fields and would NOT like to see a recycling plant built there.

We just keep building and decrease the habitat for animals. Traffic is hideous and where are we getting water for all these new projects? We are destroying Florida.....

It would be horrific to see the sanctuary that Celery Fields has become be destroyed because of selfish human acts.

I think this is one of the worst ideas yet. Please use this land as a recreational area and a nature preserve.

I'm sure a more appropriate site can be found for this recycling plant, There literally will be hundreds of species of birds and other animals that will be forced out of their natural habitat. It's zoned the way it is for a reason. creating an industrial recycling plant is a perfect example of why it was zoned the way it is. There should be no exception. If this passes the county commissioner representing the area should be looking for a new job come election time. People, especially voters, do remember!
