The Cask Inn has a significant role in not only the encouragement and promotion of jazz in North Yorkshire, but of grass roots music in general. Its wider reputation as a jazz venue appeals to renowned touring musicians, and consequently has significant beneficial impact upon the local economy. Furthermore, its importance as a vibrant community hub cannot be underestimated, and losing such a venue will inevitably and adversely affect a large demographic of local citizens, and also visitors to the town.

Love this pub! Lovely staff, I worked here when I was a student in the university. People are friendly. Sad to see it go, save The Cask Inn!

The Cask is a well loved pub and music venue for Scarborough. It needs to be kept as such. Do not sell it.

Pubs and clubs, particularly with life music provide a social service and should be protected. Sell it as a going concern.

This would be a huge loss for the music scene and general community . Plus it was first school!

Losing this pub would, for a variety of reasons, be a loss and a blow to Scarborough.

I am moving to Scarborough in 2024 and one of the things I was looking forward to and which attracted me to Scarborough was the jazz scene. I really hope this important music community venue can be saved.

This lovely pub was my first night out when I moved from Birmingham to Scarborough 8 years ago, I now live in Whitby but still frequent the premises monthly for the Northern Soul nights, I also held my wedding reception at The Cask.

I have been visiting Scarborough for many years with my friend and we always visit the Cask Inn. It is a great community pub, that also attacks Holiday makers and day trippers. If the pub closes the town will lose the money we also spend at accommodation and also other bars and restaurants.
