Save the Cascades oaks

Have we lost our minds? This tackiness shouldn't be allowed in Tally, and we're cutting the gorgeous trees for *this*??? God help us all.

There must be a way to save these oak trees! There is always a way.

Oaks are a crowning treasure of Tallahassee and we ought always seek to preserve them.

In my opinion, the garish development that is slated for this live oak hammock is not a good trade for the lives of those live oaks. Perhaps the FBI would be interested in the deal that the City has with North American Properties - that the City is paying for the demolition of this site, the construction of the parking garage and the financing of the building. What a sweet deal for North American Properties! Kind of wondering who in City government is also benefitting from this deal, either monetarily or by other considerations.... In other words - this stinks on SO MANY different levels! Pull the plug, NOW!

Don't let shortsighted developers destroy the very thing that makes Tallahassee so charming and appealing to residents and visitors alike - our beautiful trees. The developers can either modify their plans to incorporate the existing trees without disturbance or build elsewhere. We Tallahassee citizens do not want the Cascade Parks area turned into a concrete jungle replete with high rises. There's enough of that in Broward/Dade.

It's not often enough that we have a reasonable opportunity to protect and preserve our city's treasures. These trees are a unique asset worthy of inclusion in any proposed development plan. Surely, good leaders, you can make it so.

Save the trees! I’ve lived in Tallahasssee for 36 years and have seen many changes to the landscape of our beautiful city. Preserving the beauty of these magnificent trees should be a priority so we can all continue to love living here.

The removal of the trees is shameful. They represent Tallahassee far better than the monstrosity planned to be built.

The proposed project does NOT belong at Cascades Park! And, it a terrible destructive idea to take down those old beautiful historical oak trees! DONT!!!

Please save these trees. They are working so hard to clean the air and are beautiful.

We can do better than this, save the trees. Lets keep our Tallahassee charm.

Buildings go up in weeks and months. Beautiful oak trees take decades, even centuries. I love those trees! Their beauty surely outshines any monolith that may be build in their place. Paula E Sutton

Seriously stop trying to cut down everything. these trees are historic, not like these can grow again. History should be preserved not cut down or demolished.

These oak groves is a big part of Tallahassee's identity and our cherished heritage. Don't destroy them.

Old growth oak trees, need to be protected for so many environmental as well as aesthetic reasons. But even if the sole reason was their beauty...that should be enough of a reason to protect this amazing stand of nature oaks.

Tallahassee will one day soon regret all this 'beautification' as they remove what has made Tallahassee an individualized and beautiful city. Let's not let this happen! Save these oaks!
