Save the Cascades oaks

Please don't cut these down - it's bad enough we're loosing historical buildings to unnecessary buildings near Cascades.

These trees need to be kept and not taken down for money and pavement. If you protect Live Oaks in other places, then why not here?! Can never bring them back in our lifetime. :(

Trees have memories, and help bring us life in the way they breathe and give so much more.

Do not destroy these oaks, as they are of great value to the Tallahassee community and serve as an integral part of our local heritage!

This is actually unthinkable what is being thought about! :( What does Tallahassee, a tree loving city stand for anyways?! We need to protect our magnificent and magical oak trees! :)

Save nature!

I live not far from these oaks. Trees like these take a long time to grow and they are a treasure. We should do all we can to save these beautiful trees who have been here so long. Let's leave them for even more people to enjoy. Visitors comment on the amount of trees in our area, and we need to make sure we keep it that way. They contribute oxygen, cooling shade and beauty.

Selling public land for private profit is not bueno.

I along with many others respectfully request that these magnificent oaks are protected and preserved for our present joy and that of future generations. I treasure my years living in Tallahassee graduating from FSU and then riding my bike to the Old Capitol to work. Tallahassee’s oaks are true treasures and I still carry fond memories of sitting in their shade which granted me sweet serenity. Please protect and defend these precious historic resources unique to the character and charm of Tallahassee.

These trees are older than all of you. Respect your elders.

Save the ancient trees.

I thought the Cascades area was a park. Parks should have trees not big buildings. Leave the trees, can the high-rises.

Please please please. These trees are beautiful. I've visited that lot many times just to get a look at them. If anything, the site should become an annex of Cascades Park. I've travelled to cities all over the world and very few have trees as lovely as Tallahassee. This natural feature of our town should be embraced and elevated, not sold off for development.

How can anyone even consider replacing these ancient and beautiful trees! Oh that's right, for the almighty dollar. Please don't let this happen!!!

These oaks are special to my husband's family. Not to mention the beauty these trees bring to the park. Save these trees.

Tallahassee is beloved by all for our trees! When people visit the first comment is usually about our trees and how green everything is, please don't take that away!

Please save the Cascades oaks

We must save our trees as they will save us from ourselves.

The true heart of Tallahassee is our ability to grow and preserve at the same time. Let's find a way to develop the Cascades area without destroying what makes Tallahassee beautiful.

It's time to put aside development fetishism. Tallahassee is not Atlanta and hopefully never will be. Destroying what makes the city special in favor of downtown high rises (yeah, that has worked really well so far!), is such a bad plan. If we must build, let's try to co-exist with what's necessary for quality of life.
