I grew up in Tallahassee, as did my great grandparents on both sides. I, also, grew up with all of Tallahassee beautiful, already old Oaks. Please protect all for future generations.

What you as elected officials are doing to the City is deplorable and inexcusable! You refused to save the buildings and now your inaction, your inability to act like adults, has forced your registered voters to create a petition to save trees from being destroyed. Trees that were here before and will continue to be after you have turned to dust.
It is absolutely sad your voters had to create a petition in an effort to change your minds from making another bad and wrong decision. But that is current state of our local politics. Remember you WORK for us, you ANSWER to us.

Our beautiful trees are a marvelous historical fixture in the Tallahassee community. When other cities no longer have the beauty of the trees that where once indigenous to their communities, Tallahassee has always valued and protected it's trees and in turn our trees have rewarded us with protection, beauty and clean air. Destroying our trees destroys our history.

Just because we have lives, jobs, and can't follow every decision that is made by our City or County Politicians doesn't mean we accept their decisions to gut and desecrate our past and our town. Just stop!

One of the biggest draws of Tallahassee is our beautiful trees. Don't allow this to become another Fallschase disaster where the developer was supposed to try and save some of the trees. Instead, he raped the land by clearing everything!! It still hurts whenever I have to go out that way. It had been beautiful and now it is buildings and pavement. If this developer wants to develop something, let him develop some of the empty buildings that are all over the place. Re-purpose before destroying.

Corner of Glenview & Meridian. Developer told us he would save as many trees as possible. No real trees new replaced with south FL p[alms that offer absolutely no shade nor future canopy. What happened to the tree ordinance??? $$$$$over trees is the obvious answer as well as corrupt influence by Maddox toy allow Hoot Gibson’s “home grown vegetables’ NOT out of his residential garage. Such crap and lock of honesty.

Dear commissioners. It is not too late to rethink your approval to destroy this grove of trees. You need to do the right thing for the citizens not the developers. As a citizen and taxpayer, I see no economic benefit to the community to allow the destruction of these trees. I take hundreds of people on guided tours in downtown Tallahassee and the number one comment made by my passengers is how magnificent our trees are. I work outdoors during the summer and it is brutally hot. I seek the shade of these magnificent trees. The shade that these trees produce outweighs any reason that you as commissioners have to allow the trees to be destroyed. The trees are a true symbol of Tallahassee and it's natural beauty. Please do not destroy them

We must be smart enough to save these beautiful trees. We can have progress and environment at the same time. It just takes people willing to shift a paradigm and accept that those of us who want to save the trees in special places like this are not the bad guys and neither are the ones who want to make Tallahassee more beautiful with changes that will happen. Sit down at round table and work it out so we all win.

This project needs to be redesigned to save this unique treasure of trees. Why does every developer and architect have to start by scraping the land bare ? Those trees will enhance any project that goes in there. Adds beauty and ambiance that fits with the park and community around the proposed project.

Removing pines (unless long leaf) is understandable and can be necessary for development. But not 100 year Live Oaks. When working plans around them, the developer will fine a greater appreciation from general public - the ultimate customer.
