Apart from Bike Show and all the people that attend and the local organisations that benefit from this event financially every year, the visitors that come here at all times of year and walk/kayak ect. in the local area and support the village businesses would be lost. Do not agree with flooding the fields!

There some very rare flowers so they can't
Plus they need to ask for a consultation as had
They can't flood because of rare plants and insects that's why they made a dyke

Better if the environment agency invested the cost of this debacle to the sea defences.

The EA should not have the right to change the topography of the village and its environs. There has been adequate wetlands created at Cotehele quay and these water meadows already provide an interesting and unique habitat. The cost of the upkeep of the existing footpath and dyke is not a supportable reason to flood these fields as the proposal requires the building of a new dyke which would be a huge cost and that would need maintenance in the future incurring an on-going financial commitment whilst changing the whole course of the river. This change in the flow of the river would cause the additional silting up of the river fundus as it slows down to fill the additional lagoon formed on the water meadows.

Proposal destroys local amenity and does nothing for flood prevention as site cane already be used as a flood plain
