Small dogs need the protection of a gated separate area to decrease the chances of them being attacked and killEd by larger dogs. A separate area for small dogs will decrease the liability of the legal entity controlling the property. Without the separate area, small dogs are more like to be killed by larger dogs.

This community needs a dogpark that also includes a contained area for smaller dogs. It can be incorporated into th remaining area easily. Even th existing fencing could be re-used to create that.

It is outrageous that this tiny portion of the VA land is being reclaimed when there are so many families who use the park to socialize their pets and share good times together. I am a local Brentwood owner and use it everyday. I've made friends there and rely on it to give my dog a fun and safe experience. Please save as much of the park as possible!

I hate to see the small dog park be taken away from the neighborhood. Hopefully there is a way to retain a small dog park within the big dog park I'm sure there's enough room to do that in the space provided if you need help building I can lend my services .
Thank you

Easy remedy to fence off area for small dogs. They love to frolic and play too and being among the larger dogs isn't always safe. These parks bring people together to foster a closer community, which in turn makes for a better community.

As my dog has become older and partially blind, she transitioned into the small dog park where she could be safe from getting bowled over by larger dogs. It is vitally important that we have a small dog area, where smaller and more timid dogs can have a place to safely play and socialize.
Especially at times when there are large packs of dogs in the park, I have seen fights break out amongst some of the dogs. These fights can lead to severe injury and likely death in small dogs. Only a few months ago, a toy poodle that was in the large dog park was trampled to death. This was partially the fault of the dog walker that had the animal in there with his bigger dogs, but it could very well happen to small dogs in the future if they are forced to be put in with the large dogs.

Very few spaces in our neighborhood that brings people together who otherwise would not have the chance to meet. The small dog park is very important-- you can't have a safe dog park without it, and to take it away will certainly cause injury as well as hurt and traumatized puppies. The option puts people at ease. It should be beautified, not eliminated.

It is completely unsafe for small dogs in the large dog park. Why would you take away this oasis of freedom for little dogs and their owners ?It is so unfair. Please reconsider. It's our tax dollars you're spending.

Please allow dog park to remain. There are so few public places allowed for dogs to enjoy themselves off leash, this would be a shame for everyone!

My dogs love Barrington! I have 2 small dogs and while we use the big dog area when we go super early on the weekends, if it's too crowded we appreciate the small dog area for safety. One size does not fit all dogs! Safety first, folks!

Despite the radioactive soil, leaving this as a dog park, all of it, is the best use of the land.

Small breeds need play time with others, socialization and some breeds like miniature poodles need out and out exercise. The small dog park was awful. Wood chips that could hurt their paws was not conducive to bringing my dod there very often. We need an upgraded one.

I say give it all back to the VA, if not its is very necessary for the small dogs to have a safe place. The large dog area has proven to be dangerous for small dogs. Irresponsible pet owners who bring untrained or arggessive dog to the park and the dog walkers with a pack of 10-20 dogs is very commonly the problem.

a small dog area is needed and very standard as far as dog parks go, please make the required changes so that smaller dogs have a place to get safe exercise as well.
