"... Small dogs can often be viewed as prey by large dogs. It is not unreasonable for a Rottweiler to look at a Yorkshire terrier like it's a squirrel. The squeaking barks and speedy movements of a panicked small dog can also be enough to switch on the prey drive in a large dog and disaster happens. I've watched it happen on multiple occasions — it never ends well, and it sometimes ends with serious damage done to the small dog, and with the large dog being called "vicious" for simply being a normal dog that was overly stimulated." It makes no sense to have a dog park without a safe area for the small dogs.

It's soooooo important to keep the little dogs safe and separated from the large breed dogs! I only know of two fatalities that occurred years ago in large dog area which are two too many!! PLEASE KEEP THE SMALL DOG AREA FOR SAFTY PURPOSES!!!!

Please consider sectioning off a park of the large dog park for a small dog area. Such an easy solution. Small dogs have rights too!

I had thought that the plans included a fence for a small dog area, but if that's not the case then I am very disappointed. A small dog area is really important for keeping small dogs safe.

a small dog area is necessary for barrington park to help reduce injuries that naturally occur when heavier dogs play with small dogs.

Our little dog is extremely afraid of big dogs. The dog park should be a place for everyone! Please don't eliminate the little dog side.

I've personally witnessed multiple incidents of small dogs getting hurt from playing with larger dogs. To not create a small dog area is a serious issue and incredibly irresponsible. Please add a fence for a small dog area. For the dogs safety as well as for liability issues for all. Thank you.

As far as those of us with small dogs are concerned, we cannot feel safe unless the parks are separated - and therefore there will be no new dog park for us. Many years ago, before the parks were separated as they are now, a small dog was killed by a larger one. Are the planners waiting for that to happen again? Those of us who care about our dogs are not going to risk it - and therefore the park will not be for us unless plans are changed.

Makes no sense that they would just eliminate a small area. Such an easy fix to correct this.
