Without bees we would lose 1/3 of the food we eat. If we want to continue living with an abundance and diversity of food we need to strive to stop the decline of bees. Bees are such interesting, intelligent and important creatures. Over the years there has been a 300% increase in the requirement of bee pollination, while beekeepers all over the world have seen 30% to 90% loss of bees in all their colonies. Right now humans are creating vast flowerless landscapes with mass monocultures (single crop farms), putting large and sustainable amounts of building, and covering the earth in cement. All throughout our communities and in public places we must plant a large amount bright, colourful, native, bee-friendly flowers that are pesticide free. Bees have been around for over 50 million years, and our relationship with bees, through beekeeping, has been record far back before biblical times. I personally love bee. Bees work alongside, beekeepers, farmers and other growers to provide me and billions of other people with food plants, and a number of other things. We can't afford to lose the diversity and abundance of food bees help provide us.
