There lack of concern about how this decision will affect students' daily lives (forcing students to stop at lockers with only 5 minute passing time, carrying books, feminine products etc.) is really disturbing.

Isaiah made some excellent points on why the string bags would not benefit the students for many reasons. Especially the strings cutting into your shoulders! OUCH

I feel like this is a very pointless rule that may or may not come. And I don't believe there was a problem in the first place with backpacks. Everything is pretty much taken control by the school on what we wear around the school but this I, this I don't want to change

It is ridiculous to ban backpacks. Do we really need to complicate these kids crazy "to do" lists? Don't micromanage this part, people. Administrate their education instead.

All four years at CDH, I never had enough time during passing time to get books from my locker for my next class. As a result I ended up carrying most, if not all, of the books for every class I had in a day. The weight of all that even with a normal backpack wasn't that comfortable. In a drawstring bag I can only imagine how much worse it would be. Not to mention the cost of buying 300+ students bags.
The added restrictions in my last year or so at CDH, such as the sick day limitation in 2015-16, was evidently a slippery slope. If enough people don't speak up about the smaller changes like this, the more the administration will feel like they can change bigger stuff with no ramifications until it becomes a school that no one wants to attend.
