The former Axiom and Odeon buildings, Winchcombe Street Cheltenham are in Cheltenham's nationally important Central Conservation Area. They are also both included on Cheltenham Borough Council's Index of Buildings of Local Interest. We believe the owners of these two locally important buildings should not be allowed to leave them to fall into disrepair. We urge Cheltenham Borough Council to use all of its powers and available resource to seek the owners of the buildings to make good the buildings and bring them back into use. We particularly urge the council to ensure that the former Axiom building is made weather proof and pigeon proof to prevent its further physical deterioration.
