Arts are the storehouse of ethics, respect, freedom, yearning for a higher, better self. Abandon them and risk turning out selfish, greediy, unprincipled graduates.

Class of 1989 - The music program and faculty is why I came to IWC. Alumni should have been informed of the crisis.

This is completely ridiculous that the arts are on the chopping block. Where is the first place people look to 'trim the fat"? the arts. Why are they trying to cut academic programs? This should not be happening!

I was a part of four ensembles at IWC, and my time in the music department gave me some of the best memories of my life. I made amazing friends in choir, and learned a lot about myself when I performed and practiced with Dr. Miller and Ana Miller. Choir helped me develop as a person and as a successful student, and I can only hope that the continuation of music education and the opportunity to become a music educator can offer the same growth to other students.

My son atended this college and it is part of our lifes , we were so proud to watch him perform . We will never for get has a family the times we had here at iwc

I graduated in '10 with a BA in History, and a minor in English. Had I not had the music department (I played trombone and sang), I would have been at a loss for what to do at IWC for four years as I don't play a sport. The arts (and education programs) are a vital part of the college and should be saved!

What I have seen about the “cutbacks” conducted in secrecy via a lousy conference call not only betokened the demise of this once-fine institution but shames me as an alumnus of the college. The shortsighted President and the railroaded aboard of a Trustees must immediately undo this academic injustice.

Many friends and family members have attended this college for this specific reason, many memories of throwing clay in the Art building or performing at in the music hall. The Arts is Mt. Pleasant's last stand.
