Save the Art Rooms at White Cross Adult College

Art spaces are needed for everyone to have the opportunity to be creative and develop self expression. I am one of the many that has pieces made in these at rooms, please continue to provide a space for the resources to be utilised.

I am very upset by what has happened regarding this refurbishment and believe it is a subversive attempt to close the space altogether against art students - it makes me very angry!

The art rooms are a wonderful, local resource . Please keep them as such.

Please keep White Cross art rooms for local artists to use. I have been so privileged to do art in these wonderful spaces. Please let present and future local artists continue to enjoy them too. Its a vast building ....please spare the art rooms.

Creative space and facilities are extremely important for healthy communities and cultural education.

Purpose designed art rooms aren't common. Developers: Social responsibility suggested.

I was an art tutor at The Adult College for over 17 years. I know how important these facilities are to the local community.

This art space has been used for the focc charity when the tutors have volunteered their time to spend with the children from Belarus. Invaluable.

I have so many happy memories from a variety of art classes at White Cross, even a friend from many years back. The skills I gained, and have used in my work ever since, are something I will always value. What a shame others will no longer be able to say the same.

Keep the art rooms as a space for doing art.

Hope that the resourxes for Art may still be available for Adult and junior students and, if not then the resources sent to apprpriate spaces for their use e.g. Storey Institute

Please don't cut this great resource - creative spaces are a necessity in a society, not a luxury.

Stop being so destructive and utilitarian - what a waste if these wonderful rooms are destroyed

Plus- it's such a waste- there must be £1000s worth of equipment there it really isn't feasible to relocate it all and there are no other suitable, central venues

Please save this precious space for artists. Too much is being lost in the name of cost cuts with little understanding that it will be difficult to replace these wonderful purpose built areas.

we used to come here for family pottery it was such a great opportunity and a lovely way for kids and adults to spend time together- we need more not less creativity in our society- it's really not a luxury, the benefits just can't be easily measured

I used to come to a class here, it would be so so sad if this space was lost

My friend has been through a very tough time and her art classes have been a life line.

Please overturn this decision. I fully agree with the comments already made - it's vitally important to our community, and our general well-being, to nurture and support creativity .
