The thought of demolition of the Amp is a disgraceful option for such a historical structure and must be stopped. Haven't we lost enough? Rehabilitation / preservation is the ONLY option that must be pursued.

Kevin makes some great arguments that support my emotional response to the thought of losing the amp. Please save it.

What is wrong with you officials? Do you not realize by not preserving these buildings, art, etc. the history will be lost forever! People growing up now will never know these "original" treasures of Jamestown and Chautauqua county. Instead of tearing down and building new, repair the history that is there!!! I am sure their are many people who would volunteer their time to preserve these memories.

Thank you Kevin Gaughan for calling us, and hopefully the Chautauqua trustees of our common wealth, to a higher level as stewards of our inheritance and parents of its future. Clinton Brown

In this day and age you just have to figure out how to continue with rehab and upgrades on the amphitheater without destroying the history and heritage. Chautauqua Institution is the amphitheater, keep it that way

It is a shame to even have to write this and that distruction of a National Treasure that even being discussed. This disposable society we live in must extend to disposing of this treasure in the heart of our County. Please renovate but do not replace the Chautauqua Amphitheater.
