How does this make the hundred of home owners fell who's own remodeling has cost thousands of dollars extra in order to maintain the historic nature of their properties.

I question the wisdom of tearing down the old amphitheater and building a new one. Something of historical value will be sacrificed.

How could someone demolish a piece of history as charming as the centerpiece of the Chautauque Institution.

I graduated from high school in the Amphitheater as do most Jamestown High School students-it is a part of our history. It would be so wrong to demolition something that is so valuable to Western New York and the most important symbol of the Chautauqua Institute itself. Please do no do this.

It is an outrage that such a historic structure would be demolished rather than carefully and lovingly restored.

The Amphitheater is a classic part of the Chautauqua experience. Do not fail future generations by wiping out this space. Live up to the vision of Chautauqua and retrofit this space rather than erasing this heart of this place.

Stupid. It is like when they wanted to tear down Fenway Park in Boston and build a new one that looked like the old one. Hopefully, someone will step forward with a renovation plan instead.
