A replica? Really?! Sadly, it can never replicate the original building to a real lover of history and originality. The uniqueness of the real structure will be lost forever.

If the amphiteather is demolished, it will be both a cultural and financial travesty.

I am in favor of renovation rather than demolition.

A similar Chautauqua amphitheater in Mt. Gretna, Pa. was rebuilt after it was destroyed in an ice storm. The new building is close to the ld, but it isn't the same.Don't let that happen to the Amp.

The Chautauqua Program is most of all about authenticity. Demolishing the Amp goes against everything CHQ stands for.

I heard amazing music in the early 1970s led by world-remowned conductors. The Amp had a huge influence on me when I was a teenager.

The historic value of the amphitheatre and the sense of continuity it brings to the community can never be replaced simply for the purpose of legacy building or progress. Save this historic structure or lose forever the true nature of the social interactions held through many decades of use.

Tear it down and it will be gone. You can't get it back. Despite what you might think it is not a good idea.

Gen-Y is just as part of Chautauqua as anyone. Board of trustees, start listening.

I don't care who comes to Chautauqua, we're not ever going to go there again. You shot yourself in the foot.
