Chautauqua is my heaven in the summer....the Amp's simple, 1950's feel makes for a more relaxed venue for all of the presentatioons done there. I am sure the electrical needs for technology are lacking, but can't that be improved without taking away the charm of the open-aire amphitheater? Really, I don't even mind the hard bench seats!

Accessibility to the Amp for all Chautauquans is my primary concern. Young and old should be able to worship, listen to lectures and music and see the stage from comfortable seat. The CHQ Amp is a national treasure and we are the current stewards of this gift from previous generations. Keep the communications flowing.

Again the Institution is throwing away what makes that place unique! It is a federally designated Historical Landmark ! It is what gives Chautauqua its character and atmosphere both of which has been eroided over the years with previous demolitions.You would think in an enlightened community like Chautauqua there would be an apreciation of our heritage, our sense of place, our sense of who we are, where we came from and what's important to understanding that. This is just so wrong on so many levels.

I have sung there in performances of the Mendelssohn Choir and Bach Choir of Pittsburgh. I chose it as my favorite place to perform in a recent Mendelssohn Choir survey.

The roof structure should be in good repair after the last roof overhaul. Work on the acoustics with acoustical material like Acoustic Techdem. Don't dig-out the existing concrete floor.

Donors have not given or pledged for a demolition and new construction. Donors have the power to push this in the responsible and appropriate direction.
