A great regional treasure, with a lot of family history. Should definitely be preserved.

break away from the norm in the United States. Lets begin a new eara in which we preserve and restore historic parts of our culture and history. Chautauqua is based and founded in the arts, and part of art is perservation. Keep the existing Amphitheater, and restore it to it's origional glory.

A summer resident of Mayville, my wife, daughter, and I look forward to events in the amphitheater each summer. Restoration where and if needed, but not obliteration!

A replica of the Amp would be no more significant than the Eiffel Tower of Las Vegas! If the only recourse is to build something new, at least build something better using the air space that the removal of the current roof would free up. I'm not necessarily for keeping the current structure at all costs but I am for a smart new investment, not a dumb one.

Chautauqua would not be the same without the Amp. It holds so many memories for so many different people, it's where I first saw a ballet, listened to an orchestra, had my first dance with a boy during OFN, and fell in love with the institution itself.
Save the amp!
find a way to save the Amp
