chautauqua is the amp. I graduated from high school across that stage. Lectures, concerts, plays, musical and dramatic performances and going there for church on summer Sunday's have all shaped my life, and those of my children, parents, grandparents and great-grand parents. With so much history being demolished, please keep this beloved constant in our lives.

This new plan for demolition is very short-sighted by the Institute. Recognize your assets and how they drive the value of the district. New is not always better. There are very creative people in this world that can work with the existing structure to accomplish the things they are looking for. Also, lol to the person who wanted to comment in support of demo but had to sign the petition in order to do so.

During my teen years in the 60s I danced on this stage often. It was magical, spiritual, and inspirational. The people who choose to speak or perform here do so because it is so unique. Do not turn this space into another mediocre "state of the art" building.

My family has four generations of history in this incredible town. The amp is the cornerstone of the Chautauqua Institution - demolishing is would be nothing short of heresy to the cause and history CI is founded on. I urge you, to please reconsider the incredible monument you are about to bastardize.

please do only minor updates. The amp just won't be the amp with what is proposed. I grew up outside the institute and worked there many years and I would hate to see a "modern" amp, just like all the new homes going in. the board is really ruining the idea of Chautauqua and all that it is supposed to be.

The Amp IS historic as it is. It probably doesn't have any certifications because everyone thought it was obvious.
