the entire purpose of tourists comming to Chautauqua Lake Institurion is its old charm. Destroying the amp completely destroys their reason for even coming to visit!

oje of my favorite childhood spots, I would be devastated if it was demolished. It's good the way it is and I think the update is a waste of money.

The amphitheater is such an important and historic part of Chautauqua. I have so many memories there, as do an incredible amount of people. I'm so saddened to hear about this.

I cannot believe this is even an issue. The very thought of altering, let alone demolishing this piece of history, makes me disgusted, sick and so disappointed with anyone who says they love Chautauqua and voted for this. Shame on you! I'm still not over the loss of the Oriental Bizarre. What's next, The Athenian?

As an architect, I can make a long, long list of important historic buildings that have been down and later everyone regetted. Losing a building is like losing a piece of our history. What a rich history this one has.

There's just way too much history here to go and demolish it. It would probably save much more money to just tear out the old floor and drop everything down like they want to. And as for the columns, buildings are made so sturdy that they could do minor reinforcements on some pillars and ceiling beams that a few pillars could be removed. as for seating, im not sure what to do on that one, lol. I loved going here as a kid, and I've got my fair share of memories there and in the Amp. The place is gorgeous and it should be given minor upgrades and then restored, not demolished and rebuilt. That would probably free up a lot more of the 30 million dollars they're stacking up and it could be put into the community as well.

When I was a child, I remember times where I'd sing on this stage. On the risers for All County. I've watched classmates graduate here. Seen concerts. The fact that this part of my memory is thought to be demolished breaks my heart

Many great things have happened in the Amphitheater. 20 years ago, I graduated in this wonderful place. It was a day to be remembered, not only because of my graduation, but also because of the beauty of the structure. I hope to see it still standing in the future.
