I'm disgusted they are tearing down the theater. I sang there at all county choirs for ten years in a row. This makes me beyond sad.

How about creating a new amphitheater but also keeping the old one? There must be a space on the grounds to accomodate this? Could use the historic amphitheter for something else.

Please save this amphitheater, which is a Ohio historical treasure! I am sending this message in honor of my colleague Maureen Ahern, a specialist in American indigenous cultures who loved the amp and who passed away a few years ago. PLEASE SAVE THE AMP!

This is a treasured piece of my childhood and young adult life! What is being planned is tragic. Why does this administration at the Institution think that new is better when it's history that has been heart of Chautauqua. It's what make life there special...stepping back into time, walking where others have walked and sat in this amazing amphitheater where history was made. PLEASE, save the Chautauqua Amphitheater!

I heard my first symphony concert at the AMP back in the late 1940's as a small child. Please save this treasure.

Renovation of the historic building should not mean demolition. The amp holds many memories for me as an audience member for many venues to a performer on that stage, to an Educator having watched dozens of my students perform on that same stage. The "improvements" are short-sighted and fly in the face of its historical significance in our region.

Stop the demolition of the most significant and historical piece of Chautauqua. What will they destroy next, Miller Bell Tower? It's old, too.

often we are too much in a hurry to tear down the old and build new.. but it's not always the best investment.. Invest in History.. invest in memories...
