Owner of a 1979 924 Turbo M31.01

I plan to keep my 84 944 for a while. The reason I bought a Porsche was the availability of parts. I would hate to sell it because I start seeing NLA whenever I try to buy something I Need.

I am the proud owner of a 1982 924 Turbo since 1984! I have also owned 4 928s and plan to get a 928GTS. These cars are amazing and need to have parts available!

I am actively looking to buy a Porsche 924 turbo/944 and this will be a major influence in my buying decsion.

I've already had to purchase refurbished or used parts that I hope are actually working properly or search for months to find new old stock.

I own two 924's. 1976 & 1980. Ive had to have so many parts made... Machine shops are making a killing off of you porsche. Wana take some of that business back ill buy more...haha

Don't kill the classics

I own a 1983 Porsche 944 and can't imagine a more perfect car. I haven't driven anything else with remotely comparable steering feel. The car has the perfect amount of performance: it's quick enough to be safe around high-speed traffic, but if it had much more power I wouldn't get to savor the sensation of acceleration in a reasonable manner on public roads. The hatch allows me to put a bicycle in the back of the car without any difficulty, and haul my amplifier and guitars around with spare room. The seats and driving position fit me perfectly. The car is so much simpler than modern cars that there's much less to go wrong. Quite simply, it has absolutely everything I want in a car, and nothing I don't, and brings a smile to my face every time I drive. The availability of parts from Porsche classic and the fanatical following of the water-cooled 4 cylinder family provide resources essential to me continuing to use this car. No doubt these are well built and designed cars, but mine is 32 years old, has been slightly neglected by previous owners, and will need replacement parts as it continues to age. I know I'm not alone in this. When one thinks of Porsche, the first image one conjures may be an older 911, but the fanbase of the water cooled cars is alive and well. As current cars become bigger, heavier, more complex, and less pleasurable to drive, it's Porsche's dedication to the owners of its older cars that sets the company apart. As long as Porsche Classic produces parts for the 944, I know I'll be a customer.

Please keep the 924 alive, the 924 kept you alive.

As these cars get more rare , and valuable, it would be appreciated if Porsche would support us, true Porsche enthusiasts, in keeping these lovely little cars on the road.

The NLA issue is the only reason I have considered selling my '77 Championship Edition these past few years, and the reason I've not taken on other 924 projects. It is scary thinking you can put a lot of time and money into a vehicle only to have it off the road permanently because parts are NLA. A few NLA parts I know of: 477 419 061C-steering gear, 477 419 951F-drive shaft, 477 615 107 (108)-front calipers for 4 lug cars, 477 819 021-control switch (heating/air).

This represents an absolutely amazing platform of cars and we'd love to have the continued support of the company who gave it to us.

My 928 is my pride and joy. I absolutely love it. In addition, I have a 944 Turbo S race car, a 944 cab, and with my son, a 944 cup car. We also have a Cayenne Turbo. If I can't keep my glorious old Porsche waterpumpers on the road, or track, I will end up moving my allegiance to a different brand, which includes the Cayenne, for which I was just looking at adding a 2nd Cayenne turbo.

My 83 944 is my summer daily driver. Really need parts to keep it going for another 30+ years.
