Save the 59 bus at Chalk End

The removal of this stop appears pointless and has a detrimental effect on local residents. Please offer the service to First bus as they are more reliable.

Please save our bus stop, it is an important means of travel for us, don’t isolate us

Really, Arriva Bus?! You’re considering scrapping this route for the sake of a few hundred extra yards! After losing my driving licence for sixteen months courtesy of brain surgery, I could not drive and would have been otherwise imprisoned in this small settlement with no other ways of going shopping/picking up prescriptions/attending medical appointments, etc. We already have a loneliness crisis in this country - please do not put measures in place to increase it for the sake of saving a few seconds!

Please do not allow this very important bus route to be removed. Our rural communities need transport..

Please don’t forget many older people )( especially in the rural areas) do not drive / have a car !!!

This stop is vital to the community.

The Chalk End bus stops also serve the residents of Good Easter and surrounding areas. Some residents have seen 59 buses ignoring the Chalk End stops and continuing along the A1060 instead, this would put into question the figures relating to passenger numbers.

There is no sensible justification to cancel this. It adds barely 30 seconds to the journey. Don’t isolate people just to save a tiny amount of bus journey time.

I have lived @ Chalk End for 30yrs & whilst I currently drive I have been reassured that in the very near future, when not able to drive, the 59 stops by our property. Also, there have been occasions when a vehicle is not available & the bus is there for return journey to Chelmsford. The thought of an elderly person trying to walk along the A1060 is a recipe for disaster. Particularly in winter when darkness hits early & there is just an uneven grass verge to trample along.

I full support this petition. The decision to terminate services had no consultation and has no merits given it adds negligible difference to the route.
