Telemedicine in Florida has increased access to care for millions of people during the pandemic.
The temporary provisions meant patients were able to see a physician from the comfort of their home, making it a much safer and more convenient option for those who face barriers such as distance (especially those in rural areas), transportation, or caretaker availability.
The temporary provisions made to the Medical Marijuana Program expired in June 2021. This means:
- Telemedicine/Telehealth Doctor Certifications is now be prohibited.
- Patients have lost the access to the care they need.
- Patients with chronic conditions, who are immunocompromised and face barriers such as distance and transportation, will suffer the most.

Telemed is important for disabled vets like me ,and also for Hospice clients who cant travel to l MDs 60 mile round trip and charge outlandish fees. It all about Money isnt it?
This was the best service. It allowed me to see a doctor and get helpful medication during a pandemic without putting myself in danger. No baby sitters needed. No ride to doctors office. No long waits in waiting room. This list can go on forever. The very first thing I tell everyone about is the convenience. Please don’t take this away.
I am a disabled veteran with no transportation and not having the telehealth to be able to recertify makes it almost impossible to get a ride. Why should those that are in need again, be put out in the cold?
This is just simply wrong and people who suffer from agoraphobia and simply can't drive because of a wreck they suffer PTSD from are now screwed because of this ignorant decision, of lack there of!
I can’t believe Florida has ended telemedicine access for medical marijuana patients. it is hard for me to get out much and this was just like I was in an office and the Physian asked all kinds of questions in order to get approved!!! Why would you stop this practice!
I think we should be allowed to make the decision if we want to go in to see a doctor or talk to one over the phone.

After 2 car wrecks, I have TBI on both sides of my head. I suffer from 9 herniated disc's, and very bad arthritus. Without Marijuana, I suffer so much that I can't function sometimes. Booming with each heartbeat and my eyes feel like they are popping out and that pressure effects my vision. It is crazy to try to make it harder to get medical attention.
