Telemedicine or Telehealth has increased access to care for millions of people in Pennsylvania during the pandemic.
The temporary provisions meant patients were able to see a physician from the comfort of their home, making it a much safer and more convenient option for those who face barriers such as distance (especially those in rural areas), transportation, or caretaker availability.
The temporary provisions made to the Medical Marijuana Program are set to expire in June 2021 and this would mean:
- Telemedicine/Telehealth Doctor Certifications will be prohibited.
- Patients will lose the access to the care they need.
- Patients with chronic conditions, who are immunocompromised and face barriers such as distance and transportation, will suffer the most.
Sign the petition today to ask Governor Wolf to make Telemedicine/Telehealth a permanent option for patients.

Seeing 500 people stand behind this issue really hits home because I know how much my own treatment depends on keeping these appointments remote. It feels incredible to see so many others recognizing that this care is a necessity rather than just a convenience.

My own mobility issues make these appointments a lifeline and I know so many of you rely on them just as much. We have to hit five hundred signatures quickly so our message is impossible for the Governor to ignore.

My own mobility issues make these appointments a lifeline for me and I cannot bear the thought of going back to the old way. Please reach out to your inner circle and bring a few more people into this fight so we can hit our goal.

I suffer from severe anxiety, I have trouble meeting people and leaving the house. This program helps me so much, I get to stay in the comfort of my own home without panic.
Telehealth has saved us so much time and money! My husband has severe PTSD and a TBI from deployments to Iraq and therefore cannot drive very far alone. Living rurally is best for his mental health but having to drive 30+ miles to the VA or any doctor is difficult at best.
There is simply no reason to discontinue telemedicine... that I can think of, it is extremely beneficial for so many people, single moms, full-time workers, people who are unable to leave their home without help, etc...
My bed bound husband got pain relief for the first time in almost twenty years from his severe peripheral neuropathy by using medical marijuana. Please don’t allow the return of his unremitting pain!! He cannot leave his bed, much less his home.
Telemedicine for MMJ certification made it infinitely easier to renew and also reduced the associated anxiety. Please do not eliminate this program, it has immeasurably benefitted so many people, including me.

Why are medical cannabis patients being denied having the same rights as patients that utilize other forms of medicine? If I can see a therapist via telehealth, I should be able to get approval for medical cannabis via telehealth!
