I'm a former student of FISD and I've never met this principal. But from everything I've heard, she's an ideal educator that many should strive to be. Parents need to understand that discipline and tough love are the two greatest things that will promote respect and integrity within a student. With a little more respect and integrity, maybe society can function more humanely.

Catering to influential parents will hurt the education of those already less privileged and bring the "have and have nots" mentality and burden to kids with no influence over their situation. If there is a valid reason for the demotion it should have been shared. I suspect not.

The kids at the school obviously love her, and if that doesn't give them enough reason to keep her there then it really isn't in the best interest of the students.

Why should a wonderful principle who refused to discipline teachers that disciplined students that didn't do what they were told and then cried to mom & dad be demoted? Parents went to her to demand teachers be "dealt with" and she backed the teachers. #entitlementmentaility

Ms. Palacios is the best principal I've had. I don't think that you can find a more caring and kind principle anywhere else. She loved us all like we were her own children!
