We moved here in June from New England. Our son had such an amazing experience with this program, and is looking forward to the spring. Keep the neighborhood baseball park there, it provides community with the sounds of youth....something we shouldn't take away from these kids.

My daughters and son all play ball at the field and have greatly benefited from it . I will do anything in my power to help program continue it will benefit children for generations to come. If we need to raise money to keep the field alive let's do it. This is America and baseball is all inclusive.

When the youth have idle time then there is trouble. Please let them play ball. It's part of the great thing that makes up being young and teamwork !!

agree with comments. Youth team athletics are important for our children, now more than ever. A lot of important life lessons are learned on the ball field. Please keep the parks open

Baseball as a game is making a resurgence. Its a challenging game that teaches patience, decision making and how to deal with and overcome failure. Its unique in its lessons and rewards. Kids who participate are enriched in many ways in how to deal with things in life. You cannot just find a place to do it. You have to develop them. The reward is priceless to the parents, businesses and kids and cannot be measured in just money and profit. Please don't lose this sport in your community. We all know how important kids being kept busy and healthy are.

This is what makes Surfside so wonderful for our kids. There aren't a lot of recreation centers or sports for the kids in this area. This baseball field has been a great service to this community for many years

Vibrant towns have a thriving recreation department with thriving youth sports. It is an investment much like education is to society, and one that pays back if you choose to invest, Seems like the mission and vision of the recreation department needs to be overhauled.

This is where dreams and friendships are made. Irresponsible of whoever is in charge to EVEN THINK that this is a remotely good idea.

This is very disheartening. I played many games out on those fields for years. As a matter of fact, in 8th grade in the field 3 dugout is where I gave my first handy to Tyler Braxmeir & Jason Burton at the same time. They didn't repay the favor which was upsetting but overall I still cherish those fields.

Can't believe they would consider doing away with something that keeps our kids active and safe. That really sucks!
