The kids need to be able to play. What trouble might they get in if they don't have something to occupy their time.

Surfside needs to be the "Family Beach" for locals as well as the tourists.

Both children played baseball and softball at Surfside Recreation Center. Enjoyable activity that kept them active, involved, and learned the fundamentals of team work, dedication, and time management. Thank you Surfside Beach for this wonderful opportunity that our whole family enjoyed for 10 years of each child's line.

We don't play ball there anymore because we moved! My boy played there for several years and it was an amazing experience for us all! It would REALLY BE A SHAME to close the park....this keeps kids out of trouble and teaches them life lessons and prepare them for the future!

This little ballfield has introduced so many people to Surfside Beach. It is a great community resource and it would totally go against the theme of Surfside Beach, The Family Beach. Youth Sports are the MOST important part of creating the Family Atmosphere that you are wanting to create. I remember playing on this field 30 years ago myself and have enjoyed watching my son play there as well the past few years.

Why take sports from the kids?! There is always another way to solve things and taking sports away from children is not one of them. Sports help kids learn team work and they also make life long friends.

In addition to its recreational benefits for our kids, Surfside baseball and softball helped us connect with other local families when we moved to the area 3 years ago.

My name is Max Dooley, you may remember calling me Maxi Pad. You see I was a very short pudgy kid. (Kind of what George Costnaza would have looked like as a child or what most short adult lesbians look like) so after 7th grade I stopped participating in sports at Huckabee and it lead to a life of crime. First is started out slashing tires in Surfside, and then it got much worst so now I'm serving 30 to life. I'm not allowed email, so my friend Tyler is posting this for me. Please keep the field, if I would not have stayed playing ball at Huckabee, I wouldn't be a criminal.
